Biography

Dr. Frea Perdawood is a highly experienced double board-certified Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon with over 27 years of medical practice. Proficient in all facets of breast cancer, cosmetic, and implant-based reconstruction surgery, Dr. Frea has garnered expertise through rigorous training and certifications.

She earned her medical degree (MD) in Denmark and subsequently achieved the Danish Board in General and Breast Surgery in Copenhagen, Denmark. Dr. Frea completed specialized training in breast oncoplastic and reconstructive surgery, receiving certification from the Danish Breast Surgical Association (DBKS). She further obtained recognition from the European Board of Breast Surgery/UEMS, the European Union of Medical Specialists, in Bruxelles, Belgium.

As part of her comprehensive training program, Dr. Frea pursued an oncoplastic breast fellowship at two renowned institutions: the Plastic and Breast Surgical Department at Odense University Hospital (OUH), a tertiary high-specialized department, and the Plastic and Breast Surgical Clinic at Rigshospitalet (The Royal Danish Hospital), Copenhagen, Denmark—the largest and most technically advanced center in Denmark and a leading hospital in Europe.

Since 2014, Dr. Frea has held the position of senior consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon. During her tenure, she has successfully performed over 3,000 breast and axillary operations, including oncoplastic and reconstructive breast surgery, at the Plastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgical Clinic, Zealand University Hospital. This clinic stands as one of Denmark’s and Scandinavia’s largest breast cancer centers, offering highly specialized treatment modalities for various types of breast cancer and breast diseases, with a substantial volume of operative procedures.

To augment her skills, Dr. Frea participated in various technical training programs focusing on breast cosmetic and oncoplastic surgery, breast reconstruction, and correction of post-lumpectomy defects. She completed these programs at Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CUN) in Spain—an academic medical center associated with ESSO, the European Society of Surgical Oncology.
