Dr. Mahesh Ram is a highly experienced General and Minimal Access Laparoscopic Surgeon, currently practicing at Medeor Hospital. With over 14 years of experience in the UAE, he brings a wealth of surgical expertise and a commitment to minimally invasive procedures that promote faster recovery and better outcomes.
He previously served as the Head of the Departments of Surgery, Trauma, and Emergency Medicine, and has been actively involved in teaching at various medical colleges across his home state of Kerala, India.
Dr. Mahesh earned his MBBS from MS Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore in 1996, followed by an MS in General Surgery from MR Medical College, Gulbarga, in 2002. He holds a Membership in General Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and completed a Diploma and Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery from New Delhi.
He is a member of the Association of Surgeons of India and the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, and is accredited by the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo Surgeons (IAGES). His global training includes advanced procedures such as VAAFT and EPSIT for anal fistula and pilonidal sinus, under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Piercarlo Meinero in Switzerland.
In 2023, he was honored as a Master Surgeon in Minimal Access Surgery by the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), USA. Most recently, he trained under Prof. Stefano Spiezia in Italy for the Microwave and Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) of benign thyroid nodules, further expanding his minimally invasive expertise.
