Biography

Dr. Waseem Dar is an experienced Specialist Neurologist with expertise in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of neurological disorders. His clinical interests include stroke and cerebrovascular diseases, epilepsy, headaches and migraines, movement disorders, and neuromuscular conditions. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate, and patient-centered neurological care tailored to each patient’s needs. Dr. Waseem completed his MBBS from Government Medical College, Srinagar, India, in 2010, followed by his MD in 2014 and DM in Neurology in 2022 from the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), India. Prior to joining Medeor Hospital Dubai, he worked as a Specialist Neurologist at RAK Hospital, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, where he managed a broad spectrum of neurological conditions and provided specialized neurological services. His clinical experience includes the assessment and management of acute and chronic neurological disorders, stroke care, epilepsy, headache and migraine management, movement disorders, and neuromuscular diseases. He has experience in neurodiagnostic procedures, including EEG, nerve conduction studies, electromyography (EMG), and visual evoked potentials (VEP), as well as botulinum toxin injections for chronic migraine and movement disorders. Before his practice in the UAE, Dr. Waseem worked as a Consultant Neurologist at Asian Vivekanand Super-Speciality Hospital in Moradabad, India, where he gained extensive experience in managing patients with diverse neurological conditions. Dr. Waseem has a particular interest in headache medicine and migraine management. He successfully completed the iHEAD programme conducted by the International Headache Society in São Paulo, Brazil, further strengthening his expertise in contemporary headache assessment and management. His clinical interests include advanced migraine therapies, including CGRP-targeted treatments, botulinum toxin injections, and peripheral nerve blocks. Alongside his clinical practice, Dr. Waseem is actively involved in academic medicine and clinical research. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the European Academy of Neurology and has contributed to more than 30 original research articles published in national and international medical journals. His academic interests include stroke, epilepsy, and headache disorders. Dr. Waseem believes in an individualized approach to neurological care. He takes the time to understand each patient’s symptoms, concerns, and treatment goals, explains diagnoses and treatment options clearly, and develops personalized management plans based on the best available evidence. His goal is to improve neurological outcomes, enhance quality of life, and help patients make informed decisions about their health.
